Sundae With Nuts - Shannon MacLeod

August 10th, 2014

Welcome to another saucy episode of SUNDAE WITH NUTS where I have asked my fellow authors to join me for the day for a bit of fun and a laugh. We are romance writers after all!

Without further ado, I am most pleased to introduce the lovely and talented (and very brave!) Shannon MacLeod!

Sundae with the Nut Shannon MacLeod

1.Favorite knickers: cotton, lace, silk or errr…leather?
Mmm…there’s a question. Lace sometimes, spandex sometimes…was commando an option?

2.Who is your fantasy male or female? Or both?
I always like the rock star type guys – long or spiky hair, earrings, maybe a tat or two…especially if they’re hidden away. I love treasure hunts!

3.What language, when heard spoken, makes you frisky? (like Jamie Lee Curtis in  A Fish called Wanda)
– that’s an easy one. A deep Scots (Gaelic) burr coming out of the right mouth makes me melt.

4.Do you believe in love at first sight?
Absolutely!

5.If you could play a board game during sex, what would it be?
Twister!

6.I *heart* Peter Cetera. What song immediately swoops you back to your “first days” of falling in love?
Def Leppard’s Love Bites, When I’m With you by Sheriff or Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse (almost dated their lead singer once – we made a date but stood each other up. We ran into each other again a few nights later,  both apologizing for not showing, not realizing the other didn’t either….awkward….LOL)

7.Any special “toys” you’d like to give mention to for their outstanding achievements?
There are so many that are special in so many ways. Goodness, now – how’s a girl to choose?

8.Most romantic or sexiest destination out there
– aside from the idyllic visions of the beach at sunset or a heather strewn field in the Highlands, I’m a firm believer of making the best of what you got wherever you got it. An afternoon trip with your special guy/girl to the hardware store can be a romantic getaway if you apply the right amount of imagination *winks*

9.Who was your first crush?
The Beatles, Jack Wild and David Cassidy, not necessarily in that order

10.If you become a best-selling author and sell your movie rights, what will be the first thing you do when you hear? Other than contact Cd Brennan and offer to share with her, of course
– I’d likely scream myself hoarse then start planning the mother of all celebration parties.

11.I wanted to be a helicopter pilot and a cowgirl when I grew up (still do). What did you want to grow up to be when you were a little girl?
Rock star, pro surfer or storm chaser – preferably all three at once.

And last but now least.

12. Favorite ice cream flavor
– I’m a chocoholic to the core.

Today, I have the pleasure of Miss Shannon's company, a fellow Lyrical/Kensington author and guest from across the pond. First, I have to say commando is always an option. So you're hot after the rockers, eh Miss Shannon? I'm pretty impressed you ALMOST dated the lead singer of Firehouse. So I had to put him in your fantasy male pic. LOL Now there, is some awesome hair. He's second from the left, right? One time I saw Weird Al Yankovic at Mardi Gras. That's my brush with fame. Oh, and I got in trouble from security for trying to take a sneaky picture of Ronan Keatinge at Bruxelles in Dublin.

I adored your answer to what you wanted to be when you were younger. Or in your case a combo-extravaganza. What  a heroine in a story you'd make! I'm also a deep chocolate lover, so I'm down with that, girl. And mother of all parties after such an announcement? AMEN. I'd be doing the same. Sometimes, I catch myself planning it already - who I would invite, what famous music band would play, what I would wear...sigh. But hey, you never know. One day.

I had no idea who Jack Wild was so had to google him. I so enjoy my Friday evenings getting these posts together. Pure enlightenment. Was it the Oliver or Melody stage that you fell for him? :-)

Miss Shannon MacLeod is an extremely talented writer. If you want to find a story that involves that deep Scottish burr she mentions with a bit of time travel, stop by her website or Kensington page!

  1. Great, great answers. Shannon, why would you stand that man up? Did he have bad breath or something? Bad perm one time? I admit I might have wanted to date him myself.

  2. I've always had a thing for guys with long hair, especially rockers. And I'm with Gemma. Why would you ever stand up the lead singer of Firehouse, Shannon?!?!? I remember listening to those guys back in the day. I also had crazy dreams of being a rocker (played electric bass guitar) and a stormchaser. No pro surfer, though I did have a thing for Jack Wild and David Cassidy, LOL. Good luck with Rogue on the Rollaway. That's one yummy cover!

    1. That cover is mighty fine! And huh, you wanted to be a rocker, Miss Mae? I don't remember that from your Nut interview, but I'm sure you did mention because how cool is it that you played electric bass guitar? I played an acoustic 6-string and my hubby and I were just saying we need to get a new one to get the kids learning. On the list!

  5. Hi All! Thanks so much for having me today, it's been loads of fun! You're right, CJ Snare is second from the left with the great hair. Try as I might I can't remember what exactly happened that he and I didn't hook up that night...all I can think is that it must have been a hell of a good reason LOL I first saw Jack Wild on H.R. Pufnstuf - thought he was the cutest thing ever.
